My command: I had the smoked salmon sandwich ($ 8.50) with a homemade cucumber dill cream cheese schmear on sourdough bread and topped with capers and red onions. My daughter had the BLT breakfast which included an egg pancake, pesto mayonnaise, and a mix of greens on sourdough ($ 7.50). added to my salmon sandwich. She also had an iced Chai Tea Latte with oat milk ($ 5), while I tried something called lemonade ($ 3).
Love: With a big Sunday dinner already cooked at home, we were looking for a place to take guests from out of town for a light meal in the late morning. Wm. Van has succeeded perfectly. They have a nice selection of breakfast and lunch sandwiches designed to delight, not club, the appetite. Besides the great food, the ambiance couldn’t have been more perfect. While retreating to the nearby Obed & Isaac beer garden, our party of eight enjoyed our alfresco food on a beautiful day downtown.

What will I order next time? Next time I might go with the Avocado BLT, made with exactly what you’d expect, plus an optional pesto mayonnaise and egg patty ($ 10).
