Tours offer a ‘taste’ of Troy and Albany restaurants

The Taste of Troy interactive historic food tours are back with improvements for this season.

Taste of Troy offers a sampling of downtown Troy and Albany.

The owners have been organizing tours for six years.

There are two main circuits. The Historic Downtown Albany Tour, which takes place on Friday afternoons. While in Albany, guests stop at five restaurants, including Banh Mi 47 and Cider Belly Donuts.

The other tour is the Central Troy Historic District Food Tour. It has four restaurants on Saturday mornings. It includes La Capital Tacos and the Troy Waterfront Farmer’s Market. All tours are walking tours and last approximately three hours. While walking, participants learn about the history of the area while eating a progressive meal.

Each visit is limited to 10 people. Tours adhere to COVID protocols by requiring a negative test or proof of vaccination, and asking guests to bring masks and prepare individual dishes.
Each tour costs around $75 and private tours can be arranged.
