Another Ayr restaurant temporarily closed due to Covid this week.
Fox & Willow has closed with bosses breaking the “insanely sad” news to customers via social media.
The popular Carrick Road restaurant announced its immediate closure today in a moving message.
The Facebook post reads: âIt is with great sadness that we announce an immediate shutdown of Fox for the foreseeable future.
âWith all things Covid, we expected it to hit our team at some point. We made the decision to shut down to protect our team and eliminate any potential risk to customers.â
He goes on to confirm that Test & Protect will perform on-site tracking and traceability to identify anyone as a close contact.

It’s unclear when the restaurant is about to reopen, with management wanting to make sure all staff are “in the clear” before a return date is set.
The statement added: “Track and trace will contact anyone identified as a close contact. We are not announcing a ‘return date’ at this time, as we want to be fully sure that all staff are safe before they go. reopen.
âWe are incredibly sad to have to suspend our services, but we will come back when it is safe. Please be aware that we are doing this with a very cautious approach and the risk to clients is very low.
“We will be working from home on all reservations within the next 10 days minimum to let them know we will not be open and to discuss any deposits that have been paid. We appreciate your understanding and patience at this time.”
Fox & Willow becomes the second Ayr restaurant to confirm its closure due to COVID-19.
On Monday, Arthur Street Kitchen confirmed they will close until Monday, July 5 due to a staff member testing positive for the virus.
Another popular Ayrshire restaurant, Scotts in Troon, also announced its closure this week as bosses there faced a Covid outbreak.
